Rich is trying to accommodate all the interests. The cost is $85 per day, and you can take one or two days of carving. The clay class will require participation in both days. It's set up like this to allow you to carve your clay model if interested. He is flexible on the schedules, so let me know what you would like to do. Note, if you want to carve your clay model, we need to discuss the wood requirements. Here is link to his website. https://www.wetherbeecollectionllc.com/roughouts
It's not too early to sign up, no deposit needed yet, just let me know. We are beginning to fill up sessions so don't wait till the last minute.
Here is the work being done presently.
1. Working on motel pricing. Not overly optimistic but will do the best we can to get a reasonable price. We have a place that rents cabins for $155 per night. I will be sending out info soon on it and other options.
2 Postcards for show dates and pertinent info are complete (attached below) and ready to distribute. Let me know if you need some mailed to you for events or your club or if you want your own postcard. Reply to me. Not reply all.
3.We haven't firmed up categories, but the plan is to reduce some of the categories to improve the payouts since it requires 4 entries per categories for $$ payout.
June 19
About 103 days till our carving seminars begin!
I want to highlight each instructor over the next few notes. If you are interested in taking a class, let me know since our instructors have to complete class preparations and develop training schedules, so they need to know if the training is a go by meeting the minimum required students. On this note, sadly, Bill Johnson has developed a conflict and will not be able to teach this year. I have reached out to one other chip carving instructor but have not heard anything.
The brochures are almost ready; we do have postcards that I can send out with dates and info. If you want something mailed to you, let me know. Soon, the brochures will be listed on our website and posted on the Facebook pages (we have two pages). This will give you a chance to rent tables for sales, see the categories and other show details.

Smoky Mountain Woodcarvers Annual Show
Gary Falin is our featured instructor in this note. Next note will feature another instructor. They are sending class project info.
Gary is well known in the carving community and is a CCA emeritus member. For health reasons, he has reduced his schedule, so I encourage you to take advantage of his classes since his travel will be limited in the future. Gary's favorite projects are caricature Santas and cowboys. However, he has roughouts for witches, gnomes, monks, football players, big foot and many others. I am guessing but he has over 40 roughouts to pick from and very reasonable pricing.....most are less than $35 . He normally will help you get your project done in 2 days and then you get a paint class to finish your project. If you prefer to carve on third day, pick another project and carve some more! He will be great help for advanced to beginning carvers. His class normally fills so don't wait too long.

We have a few changes in this year's show. But still have many of the items that attracted a crowd last year. Our silent auction and raffle are huge with plenty of carving supplies, carvings and other crazy stuff. Carving demonstrations, knife sharpening and Stadtlander will be there. So hope you can can make it
Let me know if you want off the list, you know someone should be on the list or if you want to reserve a seminar spot or get a table.
Thanks
